How to Check Your AIOU Tutor Information Online

How to Check Your AIOU Tutor Information Online

Every AIOU student gets a tutor for each course. The tutor checks your assignments, guides you on the course, and sends your marks to the university. This guide on aiou tutor information shows you where to find your tutor’s name and contact details on the CMS portal, and what to do if the details are not showing yet.

Knowing your tutor early matters. For Matric and FA students who still submit assignments to tutors, the tutor is the person who receives your work. For all students, the tutor is the first person to contact when your assignment marks are late or missing.

Step-by-Step: Find Your Tutor on the CMS Portal

  1. Open the CMS portal. Go to enrollment.aiou.edu.pk in your browser.
  2. Log in. Enter your registration number as the user ID and your CMS password. These are the same details you used for admission. If you never received them by SMS, contact your regional office.
  3. Open the Academic Record tile. On your dashboard, find the Academic Record section.
  4. Click My Tutors. This opens the list of tutors allocated to you, course by course.
  5. Note each tutor’s details. For every course, write down the tutor’s name and contact number. If you submit assignments by post, also note the postal address shown. Keep this list safe for the whole semester.
  6. Contact your tutor early. A short polite message at the start of the semester, with your name, course code, and roll number, builds a good link. Do not wait until the deadline week to make first contact.

Your tutor list is also linked to your assignment routine. If you are unsure how your assignments must reach your tutor this semester, read the AIOU assignment submission rules for Autumn 2026, because online and postal submission now depend on your program. The AIOU assignment submission schedule for Autumn 2026 gives you the exact deadlines to work to, so you can plan each submission with your tutor in good time.

What If Your Tutor Details Are Not Showing?

Missing tutor details are common at the start of a semester, and there is a clear order of action:

  1. Wait for allocation to finish. Tutors are allocated by the regional office before the study period starts. If the semester just began, the list may still be loading.
  2. Check again after a few days. Log in again and open My Tutors. Sometimes the list appears course by course rather than all at once.
  3. Contact your regional office. If the details still do not appear, contact the regional office for your area. AIOU’s own guidance says students who cannot find tutor information in CMS should contact the concerned regional campus. Give them your registration number, program, and course codes so they can check fast.
  4. Do not guess. Never send your assignment to a tutor name you found on a random website or social media group. Only the CMS list is your official allocation.

How to Work Well With Your Tutor

A good tutor link makes the semester much smoother. A few habits help:

  • Introduce yourself early. Share your name, course codes, and roll number in your first message.
  • Ask clear questions. Ask one question at a time and mention the course code, so the tutor can answer without guessing.
  • Keep your submission proof. Keep the postal receipt, the LMS screenshot, or a photo of the handed over assignment. If your marks ever go missing, this proof is what you show first. Our guide on how to check AIOU assignment marks on the CMS portal explains what to do step by step if a mark does not appear.
  • Write your own work. Tutors check for copied work, and AIOU’s plagiarism policy is strict: copied work can get you debarred from your degree at any stage. Use samples only to understand the method, then write the answers yourself.
  • Be polite and patient. One tutor checks hundreds of students. A polite follow up after a reasonable wait works better than repeated messages.

Do All Students Get the Same Kind of Tutor?

Not exactly. The tutor’s role depends on your program and how you submit assignments. Matric and FA students usually submit assignments to their tutors directly, so the tutor’s postal address and phone number matter a lot. Students in BS, B.Ed, MA and MSc programs, and now AD and BA Open Courses students too, submit through the Aaghi LMS portal instead. For them, the tutor still checks the work and guides the course, but the submission route is online. If you are in one of these programs, our step by step guide on how to upload your assignment on the Aaghi LMS portal shows the exact upload steps.

For sample assignments that show the right structure before you write your own, see the AIOU solved assignments on this site. They are learning samples only. Always write your own answers.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where exactly do I find my tutor on the CMS portal?

Log in at enrollment.aiou.edu.pk, open the Academic Record tile, and click My Tutors. Your allocated tutors appear there, course by course.

Can I change my tutor if I am not happy with one?

Tutors are allocated by the regional office through its own system, not chosen by students. If you have a genuine problem, raise it with your regional office with clear details instead of trying to switch on your own.

My tutor is not replying. What should I do?

Wait a reasonable time, send one polite follow up with your name, course code, and roll number, and keep your submission proof safe. If there is still no reply and a deadline is near, contact your regional office.

Do I need my tutor’s details if I submit on the LMS?

Yes. Your tutor still checks your work and your marks, and you may need to contact them about checking or missing marks. The LMS changes how you submit, not who checks your work.

What if my course shows no tutor at all?

First check again after a few days, since allocation can finish course by course. If it stays blank, contact your regional office with your registration number and course codes.

Is the tutor list on social media groups reliable?

No. Only the CMS My Tutors list is your official allocation. Lists shared in groups can be old, wrong, or for a different region, so always trust the CMS record.
