AIOU Date Sheet Autumn 2026: Current Status, Expected Timeline and How to Download

Students keep asking the same question in October: is the AIOU date sheet Autumn 2026 out or not? The honest answer is that some of it is out, and some of it is not. The university has released date sheets for Phase-2 programs, while the big Matric and FA date sheet is still on the way. This guide tells you exactly what has been released, what is still coming, and where to download your own date sheet the day it appears.

What Is Out Right Now

The date sheets that have been released so far belong to the Phase-2 ODL group of Autumn 2026. That covers Open and Certificate Courses, AD, ADC, ADE, AD in HRM, Islamic Banking and Marketing, B.Ed, BBA, BS Accounting & Finance, and BS programs. If you study in one of these programs, your paper-wise schedule is already available, and you can download it today.

The university has also released the Autumn 2026 schedule for international students, covering Open Courses and the Matric and FA/I.Com programs for students outside Pakistan. If you study abroad through AIOU, that sheet is the one for you.

What Is Not Out Yet

The general date sheet for Matric, FA and Intermediate students inside Pakistan has not been released yet. This is the sheet most students are waiting for, and it is normal for it to come later. AIOU releases date sheets in phases, and the big ODL group usually gets its schedule closer to the exam season.

One thing to keep clear: the official academic calendar puts the Autumn 2026 ODL examination period from 1 March to 30 April. These are the weeks in which exams are held, not the date of your individual papers. Your exact paper dates, days and shifts come only from your program’s own date sheet when it is published.

When Will the Rest of the Date Sheet Come?

There is no official announcement yet about the exact release date of the general Matric and FA date sheet. Going by the university’s usual pattern, it arrives in the weeks leading up to the exam season. Your roll number slip comes first, normally a few weeks before exams, and it carries your exam center and timing. Once the sheet is out, it is announced on the official AIOU website and picked up by education news sites within a day or two.

Until then, the smartest move is to study by the academic calendar and the course outline, not by rumors. If a website or a WhatsApp group shows you a “final” Matric date sheet with specific paper dates that AIOU has not published, treat it as fake and verify it against the official page.

How to Download Your AIOU Date Sheet

When your program’s date sheet is published, here is how to get it:

1. Open the official website. Go to aiou.edu.pk in your browser.
2. Find the Date Sheet section. Look for the Date Sheets or Downloads link on the homepage menu.
3. Select your semester and program. Choose Autumn 2026, then pick your program (Matric, FA, B.Ed, AD, or your own program).
4. Open the PDF. The date sheet downloads as a PDF file. Open it and check your course codes and paper dates.
5. Save it on your phone. Keep the PDF saved and take a clear photo of it, so you always have your schedule with you.

What to Check on Your Date Sheet

When you open the PDF, do not just look at the first page. Check these points:

• Your course codes: confirm every paper listed is actually your course.
• Paper dates and days: note each date on a calendar so nothing overlaps with work or family plans.
• Morning or evening shift: AIOU holds exams in two shifts, morning (around 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM) and evening (around 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM). Know which shift your paper falls in.
• Practical papers: some programs have practical or workshop parts with separate schedules. Read the notes at the end of the sheet.
• Correction notices: if AIOU issues a revised sheet later, the new one replaces the old one. Check the official page again a few days before your first paper.

Date Sheet and Roll Number Slip: How They Work Together

The date sheet and the roll number slip are two different things, and you need both. The date sheet tells you which paper is on which date. The roll number slip tells you where you will sit: your exam center, your roll number, and your exact shift timing. You cannot enter the exam hall without your roll number slip and your original CNIC or B-Form, so download the slip from the CMS portal as soon as it is available and keep a printed copy.

Study Plan While You Wait

Do not waste the waiting time. With the exam period starting in March for ODL students, the weeks between October and February are your main preparation window. Finish your assignments early, solve your course past papers for revision, and make short notes from each study unit. When the date sheet finally arrives, you will only need to match your preparation to the paper order.

For past papers and sample solved assignments to practice with, browse the AIOU past papers collection and keep an eye on our Date Sheets section for the official sheet the moment it is published.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the AIOU date sheet Autumn 2026 released?

Partly. The Phase-2 ODL date sheets (AD, ADC, ADE, B.Ed, BBA, BS programs, Open/Certificate courses) and the international students’ schedule are out. The general Matric and FA date sheet for students in Pakistan is not out yet.

Where can I download the AIOU date sheet?

From the official website aiou.edu.pk, in the Date Sheet section. Always download from the official source so you never follow an old or fake sheet.

Which programs does the Phase-2 date sheet cover?

Open and Certificate Courses, AD, ADC, ADE, AD in HRM, Islamic Banking and Marketing, B.Ed, BBA, BS Accounting & Finance, and BS programs, plus Open Courses and Matric and FA/I.Com programs for international students.

When are the Autumn 2026 exams?

The official academic calendar places the ODL examination period from 1 March to 30 April. These are the exam weeks, not your paper dates. Your individual paper dates will come on your program’s date sheet.

What should I do if my program’s date sheet is not out yet?

Keep studying by the academic calendar and your course outline, finish your assignments on time, and check the official AIOU date sheet page regularly. Ignore unofficial sheets that appear on social media until the university publishes them.

Is the roll number slip the same as the date sheet?

No. The date sheet gives paper dates for the whole program. The roll number slip is personal: it gives your exam center, roll number and shift timing, and you need it to enter the exam hall.
